The Los Angeles Lakers’ front office has kept trade rumors swirling as they explore ways to strengthen their roster and compete for a championship next season. With free agency drawing to a close, Los Angeles is looking at potential deals to boost its depth at forward and on the wing — but some proposals have caught fans completely off guard.

One scenario that has been gaining some buzz involves Miami Heat forward Andrew Wiggins. Rumors of trade discussions between the two franchises for Wiggins have grown in recent weeks. Now, a new report from NBA Insider Jovan Buha revealed the Heat’s asking price.

According to Buha, Miami made it clear it is demanding significant assets from Los Angeles in exchange for helping facilitate the deal.

“I’ve shared what I’ve heard which is that they have been asking for a first [round pick] and Dalton [Knecht] … I think they also want Rui [Hachimura] too because they want to remain competitive,” Buha said on his Buha’s Block podcast.

The rumored demands have sparked an immediate reaction from NBA fans across social media, with many arguing that the price is simply too steep for Wiggins at this point in his career.

Some were left stunned by the idea of giving up multiple role players, a first-round pick, and two promising younger wings.

“What the [expletive] is this demand? Wiggins ain’t even better than Rui?!” one fan wrote.

“Who do they think Wiggins is?” questioned another.

“Pat Riley needs to hang ‘em up, he’s washed,” another fan mentioned.

“They want young talent and a 1st round pick for a 30-year-old player that’s been getting traded his whole career?” another fan added.

“Miami funny man 😂,” a fan remarked

“That’s pretty delusional,” another fan said.
