Los Angeles Lakers icon Kobe Bryant and Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry are undoubtedly two of the best to ever play basketball in the NBA. Not only did they win at the highest level — and multiple times at that — but they also influenced and changed the game in their own ways.

Bryant, who was undoubtedly one of the best scorers the NBA has ever seen, popularized the “Mamba Mentality” — which encapsulates his work ethic and desire to improve and succeed.

As a result, the Lakers legend won five championships, two Finals MVPs, one regular-season MVP, two scoring titles and numerous other accolades.

Curry, for his part, will go down as the greatest shooter of all time. He was the reason shooting 3-pointers became popular, which transformed how the game of basketball is played.

The Warriors guard is also a four-time NBA champion, one-time Finals MVP and two-time regular-season MVP — even becoming the first unanimous MVP in 2016. Furthermore, he has two scoring titles under his name, further highlighting his offensive brilliance.

On Wednesday, however, former NBA player Brandon Jennings had fans debating Bryant’s and Curry’s place in history when he asked if the Warriors star will be ranked higher than the Lakers great when he retires.

Sure enough, fans were quick to share their opinions on why Steph Curry and Kobe Bryant should be ranked higher over the other.

“Great question, it’s possible ngl not to mention Steph the 1st and only unanimous mvp,” a fan said of Curry. Another one stated, “Unanimous mvp as well!”

“Greatest shooter ever,” a Curry supporter chimed in.

For Bryant fans, however, the Black Mamba’s defense makes him better than Curry. For those not in the know, Bryant is a 12-time All-Defensive Team member.

“Never. 12 x all defense. All yall care about is offense obviously,” a social media user said of why Curry will not be ranked higher than Bryant.

“Curry don’t even sniff the top 10. He never even heard of the all defensive team lol,” a poster further stated.

“Nope. Defense,” a sixth follower remarked.

It remains to be seen if Curry will be able to add more accolades to his resume before he calls it a career. For now, though, fans are clearly split on who to rank higher between him and Bryant.
