Fresh Intel Projects BYU to Land Coveted Four-Star Linebacker Braxton Lindsey originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The BYU Cougars have hit a recruiting hot streak and received some encouraging news this week. Four-star linebacker Braxton Lindsey is projected to be Provo bound next year, according to 247Sports.
The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder from Rogers (Arkansas) has 26 offers on the table, but narrowed his list to BYU, Arkansas, Miami, Oklahoma, and Missouri. Lindsey’s primary position is at linebacker but he’s a true two-way player and can have a similar recruiting structure to last year’s Heisman winner Travis Hunter. At the very least, he could get some package plays at tight end under the right situation.
Lindsey had 28 tackles (five for loss), nine sacks, 10 quarterback pressures, two forced fumbles and two pass breakups on an average of 15 defensive snaps per game as a junior. On the offensive side, he recorded 62 receptions for 1,139 yards and 14 touchdowns.

There has been a significant gap between Lindsey’s official visit to BYU on March 18. He has been around the country lately and received significant buzz during his time at Oklahoma, throwing up a ‘Horns Down’ sign with coach Brent Venables for a recent social media post. However, the Cougars made a strong impression and look to finish by adding Lindsey to a stout 2026 class.

BYU currently leads the Big 12 and is No. 25 nationally in next year’s recruiting rankings, according to 247Sports. It’s not only one of the best in the modern era, but the top in Kalani Sitake’s tenure. The group of 16 players is led by five-star quarterback Ryder Lyons, along with a pair of Beehive State four-star talents in tight end Brock Harris and offensive lineman Bott Mulitalo.
