Clippers Named a Potential Suitor for Bradley Beal if He Gets Bought Out originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Los Angeles Clippers had a solid start to free agency, picking up Brook Lopez shortly after free agency opened.
Since then, they’ve been pretty quiet.
They haven’t added anybody else and the only moves they’ve made were re-signing Nicolas Batum and releasing Drew Eubanks.
The team still has plenty of needs on third day of free agency and it seems it is believed they could have their eye on a notable name.
During a recent appearance on “NBA Today”, ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk named the Clippers a team who could pursue Phoenix Suns guard Bradley Beal if he is bought out this offseason.

“If Bradley Beal were to be bought out of his contract, perhaps the Clippers would be a player. The Clippers have always been advantageous about getting stars on the cheap. In the past, they’ve gotten point guards like John Wall, Rajon Rondo, Russell Westbrook,” Youngmisuk said (via APH00Ps).
Beal’s time with the Suns has been a disaster. They added him to a roster that already featured two of the NBA’s best scorers and he just never fit.
That bad fit coupled with injuries that cost him 29 games during each of his two seasons now have the Suns looking to move on from him.
Unfortunately for Phoenix, his contract is awful. Not only is he making a ton of money, but it also includes a no-trade clause.
At $53 million for next season and with a $57 million player option for the 2026-27 season, there is unsurprisingly little interest in trade for Beal right now.
There should be a lot more interest if he hits free agency.
Beal can still score. He averaged 17 points per game this past season while shooting 49.7% from the floor and 38.6% from three.
That could make him a valuable free agent addition for the Clippers, who struggled to score this past season and still don’t have a particularly deep roster.
He’s certainly not the same player he was at his peak with the Wizards, but he’d be a nice addition to the Clippers’ backcourt at a time where there aren’t a ton of realistic options out there for them to improve their roster.
