Earlier this year, the Oregon Ducks got some frustrating news on the recruiting trail when it was announced that 4-star offensive lineman Tommy Tofi was committing to the California Golden Bears.
It appears that it didn’t sit well with Dan Lanning, and he took action.
On Monday, Tofi announced that he was decommitting from the Golden Bears and opening up his recruitment. Unsurprisingly, he then announced on Thursday that he was committing to the Ducks and joining the 2026 class in Eugene. This is a major win for the Ducks, who took a huge step in filling out their offensive line room in the cycle.
Tofi has been one of the top recruits on the board for Oregon this cycle, standing at 6-foot-6, 330 pounds. He is rated by 247Sports as the No. 97 player in the class, and the No. 6 IOL in the nation.
On June 30, the Ducks also flipped 3-star OL Koloi Keli from the California Golden Bears as well.
The Ducks now have 12 players committed in the 2026 class, which is rated as the No. 15 best in the nation. There are a number of highly-rated players left on Oregon’s recruiting board set to commit in the near future, too, such as 5-star OT Immanuel Iheanacho, 4-star OT Kelvin Obot, 5-star LB Tyler Atkinson, 4-star CB Davon Benjamin, and many others.
