Bronny James' Offseason Progress in New Video is Hard to Ignore

Bronny James’ Offseason Progress in New Video is Hard to Ignore originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Bronny James had an up-and-down first year in the NBA with the Los Angeles Lakers. While he impressed in the G League, he saw little playing time on the main roster and didn’t have much of an impact on the team.

The 20-year-old guard averaged 18.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.6 steals in the G League — between the regular season and Tip-Off Tournament. However, he put up just 2.3 points and less than an assist and a rebound in 27 games played in the NBA.

LeBron James’ eldest son did show flashes of brilliance, at one point exploding for 17 points, three rebounds and five assists in a game against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. Sure enough, however, it was clear he still needs plenty of work to become a key contributor for an NBA team.

That being said, James is not wasting his offseason and is already putting in the work in preparation for his second year in the NBA.

On Sunday, player development coach Chris Johnson shared a video of James working on his cardio and doing dunks. The Lakers youngster showed his athleticism — dunking the ball with ease — and improved finishing.

Sure enough, fans couldn’t help but get hyped for Bronny James as he works on his game. The comment section of Chris Johnson’s post was full of messages praising the former USC standout.

“I’m always gonna root for Bronny. Big year on deck!” a commenter wrote. Another one said, “LET’S GO BRONNY.”

A fan added, “How can someone hate on a “youngin” who has been blessed and is actually “doing the work,” keep pushing Bronny.”

“Looks a completely different player sheesh he could be a asset for la,” a supporter claimed.

A fifth social media user remarked, “Bronny got bounce!!!”

“Bros a genetic anomaly bros still hooping at full speed even after that genetic defect is crazy,” a poster stated.

It remains to be seen if James will get more opportunities with L.A. in the 2025-26 season, but regardless, it’s clear he’ll be ready if and when an opportunity arises.
