The Chicago Sky picked up their fifth win of the WNBA season, defeating the Los Angeles Sparks.
Chicago entered a matchup against the Sparks looking to gain some sort of momentum after struggling to find a rhythm in the Tyler Marsh coaching era.
They wound up defeating the Sparks 92-85, beginning a monster performance from Angel Reese, who was announced as Chicago’s “Player of the Game” after the matchup.
Following the win for the Sky, Reese shared her thoughts on a historic game. She became the only player in WNBA history to record four straight games with 15 or more rebounds.
Reese also entered the top 10 ranking of the Chicago Sky’s all-time rebounding list.
The Sky star reposted Chicago’s photo where they announced her as the “Player of the Game.” She shared the news with over five million followers on social media.
Angel Reese finished the game with 24 points, 16 rebounds and seven assists. She recorded her 10th double-double of the season.
Reese spoke on her performance after the game, sharing her thoughts on the success she’s had with the Chicago Sky.
“I’m just trusting my work,” Reese said, per Karli Bell. “I put my head down everyday and work… “When somebody can’t stop you on the boards, it leads to more points for us.”
During her second season with the Chicago Sky, Angel Reese has posted 11.7 points, 12.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
The Sky will now look to build off their win against the Los Angeles Sparks, potentially sparking a win streak when they face the Minnesota Lynx on July 6 at 7 p.m. ET.
