PFF believes the Bears have one of the NFL's best receiving corps in 2025

The Chicago Bears have had one of the NFL’s most impactful offseasons where they’ve improved their offense in a big way, including the hiring of new head coach Ben Johnson, the revamping of their offensive line and adding even more weapons for quarterback Caleb Williams.

The Bears are returning some big playmakers in wide receivers DJ Moore and Rome Odunze, who’s stepping into a bigger role following the departure of Keenan Allen in free agency, as well as tight end Cole Kmet. But Chicago made some big additions in the 2025 NFL Draft with tight end Colston Loveland and wide receiver Luther Burden III, and both have the potential to make significant impacts in their rookie seasons.

Even following last year’s fourth-ranked group’s underperforming and the departure of Keenan Allen, Pro Football Focus’ Trevor Sikkema still believes Chicago has a top receiving corps entering the 2025 season. That has a lot to do with the new additions of Loveland and Burden via the draft, as well as new head coach and offensive coordinator Ben Johnson.

“The Bears ranked in the top five of my receiving corps rankings going into 2024, which proved to be too high for a unit that went on to rank 27th in PFF receiving grade,” Sikkema wrote. “However, much of the team’s struggles stemmed from a rookie quarterback and a bad offensive coaching staff. Chicago retained its core receivers — DJ Moore, Rome Odunze and Cole Kmet — and added Colston Loveland and Luther Burden III to the mix while parting ways with Keenan Allen.”

The biggest catalyst for this receiving corps’ potential is the arrival of Johnson, who’s one of the league’s brightest offensive minds. Not only will he be responsible for getting the most out of Williams, but he’ll be looking to turn the Bears into one of the NFL’s best offenses, like he accomplished during his stint with the Detroit Lions.

The biggest concern isn’t the amount of weapons but how the ball will be distributed given there’s jut one ball and a plethora of weapons for Williams, along with the ground game. And that’s definitely not a bad problem to have.
