How The Falcons Can Balance Their Offense In 2025 Better Than They Did In 2024 originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Falcons had big plans of making the playoffs in 2024 with their big signing of Kirk Cousins, but after a 6-3 start, it all fell apart afterwards. The Falcons ended the season 8-9 and missed out on the playoffs once again, but there were some flashes from rookie quarterback Michael Penix Jr.
In 2024, both Bijan Robinson and Drake London had breakout years, even with inconsistent quarterback play. The Falcons utilized the running game as their main route and it worked to a point, but in 2025 the team will look to utilize the passing game a bunch more.
Raheem Morris and Zac Robinson will work to make sure Penix is comfortable with the offense and make sure that the offense can flow correctly. Robinson and Tyler Allgeier will continue to put up big running numbers, while London will also get his targets.
Kyle Pitts, Darnell Mooney, KhaDarel Hodge, and Ray-Ray McCloud are all looking to play more key roles in the offense as the 2025 season kicks off in a few months. Each player will need to fill their role and help out the young offense.
Pitts is coming off a long offseason of trade rumors and will need to be a key piece for the passing game to work wonders in 2025. His inconsistency was a low point for the Falcons offense in 2024 and will need to break out this year for the offense to flow.
Being able to have a balanced offense is the key to success in the NFL, and the Falcons will hope that is the case.
