Four-star DB Chace Calicut commits to Georgia over Texas, Michigan

The Georgia Bulldogs continues to assert themselves in the recruiting world after gaining another commitment from North Shore (Texas) four-star safety recruit Chace Calicut.

Calicut, a highly sought-after safety, narrowed his choices to Georgia, Michigan, and Texas. Georgia hosted him on an official visit on June 6, followed by Michigan on June 13 and Texas on June 20. Texas emerged as the primary contender for Georgia in this recruiting battle. The four-star has versatility and could play as a cornerback or safety for Georgia despite being considered a safety recruit.

Kirby Smart and company have done an amazing job recruiting in the secondary in the class of 2026 with three top 100 recruits in Justice Fitzpatrick, Jordan Smith, and Caden Harris. The Bulldogs also have commitments from four-star safety Zech Fort and three-star Kealan Jones.

247Sports describes Calicut as a “huge and functionally athletic” recruit. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound defensive back is a great addition to UGA’s recruiting class.

The Bulldogs recently have picked up commitments from four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge, four-star running back Jae Lamar, four-star linebacker Shadarious Toodle, four-star edge rusher Khamari Brooks and three-star defensive lineman Corey Howard.

Georgia has landed commitments on six straight days and is one of the hottest recruiting teams in the country.
