Pro Football Focus has become a staple within the NFL’s analytics landscape, even if their work has garnered some detractors over the years. And included in that, well, skeptical bunch is Carolina Panthers cornerback Jaycee Horn—who recently stated that he had “nothing for PFF” in regard to their new ranking of him.
“I’m not really surprised,” Horn said of his No. 25 position on PFF’s top cornerbacks list. “I kinda dealt with this a little at South Carolina. I felt like I was putting out good tape, same thing. I remember when I got drafted, they had an analyst saying I wasn’t even a first-round player and I wasn’t that good. So, I mean, it is what it is. As long as the Panthers think I’m a good player, my teammates think I’m a good player—that’s all that matters.”
So, it may be safe to say that Horn won’t take that standing too seriously. But what about those teammates?
