WHOA. What a shock! Masai Ujiri is out from the Toronto Raptors’ front office, a stunner considering the 2025 NBA Draft JUST finished.
But perhaps it was time for the man who helped win the franchise a title in 2019 to go elsewhere. And it might be too late for him to sign with a franchise this year.
So let’s project out. Maybe there are a few NBA teams who will be bidding for the brilliant former president and GM to work his magic with their rosters … by this time next year.
Here are a few teams we could see who would be intrigued by bringing Ujiri aboard:
Brooklyn Nets
Sean Marks has been there forever, but this team just had an iffy draft and is in the midst of a rebuild.
Philadelphia 76ers
If this year is a bust — and honestly, right now it could go either way, depending on Joel Embiid’s health — perhaps they’ll switch Elton Brand for Ujiri.
Milwaukee Bucks
This all depends on Giannis Antetokounmpo. If he wants out this summer? And Jon Horst doesn’t get a good return? Perhaps this is a spot.
Dallas Mavericks
The Luka Doncic trade could haunt Nico Harrison too much.
