2025 NBA mock draft: Sixers take Tyrese Proctor with No. 35 pick

The 2025 NBA draft is not over just yet as Round 2 gets underway at 8 p.m. EDT on Thursday from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The Philadelphia 76ers will have the No. 35 pick in Thursday’s draft and will look to make another addition to the roster in their quest to bounce back from a miserable 2024-25 season.

With the No. 3 pick in Wednesday’s Round 1, the Sixers selected Baylor star VJ Edgecombe and will now look to add another piece to this roster. With Round 2 set to get underway, there are still some solid options available who can contribute right away to a winning roster.

A mock draft performed by The Athletic has the Sixers selecting Duke guard Tyrese Proctor:

Proctor has been very impressive in pre-draft workouts with his ability to knock down shots and potentially play minutes both on and off the ball. He’s a monster shooter, having hit 40.5 percent from 3 this past season at Duke while playing next to an awesome team around him. He also processes the game at a strong level and makes quick decisions with the ball. Proctor is also a willing defender, but he needs to put on a bit of weight over the next few years to deal with the physicality of the NBA.

Proctor played with Sixers guard Jared McCain in the 2023-24 season and shot 36.5% from deep across his three seasons with the Blue Devils. His 3-point percentage steadily climbed from 32% as a freshman in 2022-23 to 35.2% as a sophomore in 2023-24 to 40.5% in 2024-25 as a junior. He has a smooth stroke and will look to make an impact should he be drafted by Philadelphia.
