Minnesota Vikings star seen as historic value of the millenium in the NFL Draft

The Minnesota Vikings are like any other team in the history of the NFL Draft; they have been lucky more times than they have been right. Going back to Randy Moss falling to them, and even more recent examples, being lucky is just better when it comes to the draft.

When a team is lucky, it creates value for the picks it makes. When it comes to the Vikings’ selection of Justin Jefferson, NFL Media’s Eric Edholm believes he is one of the biggest values at the wide receiver position of the last millennium.

Edholm writes, “Yes, he was a first-round pick in the 2020 draft, but Jefferson was the fifth receiver taken — and he’s arguably the best wideout in the game today. That class was loaded at the position (CeeDee Lamb, Tee Higgins, Michael Pittman Jr., Brandon Aiyuk, Jerry Jeudy and others), but Jefferson stands alone. Can you imagine if the Eagles had taken Jefferson instead of Jalen Reagor?”

The thought of the Eagles having Jefferson is enough to make the rest of the NFL nauseous, we are sure. The selection of Reagor certainly slowed things down in Philadelphia, but they eventually found their way.

As for Jefferson in a Vikings uniform, he is poised to become a Hall of Fame wide receiver at the rate he is going, joining the aforementioned Moss and Cris Carter in that category.
