Fever reportedly release DeWanna Bonner after team failed to find trade partner for disgruntled veteran

DeWanna Bonner’s time with the Indiana Fever is over after just 14 games. The team will reportedly release the veteran after attempts to trade Bonner failed, according to the Indy Star.

Bonner, an All-Star as recently as last season, never got established with the Fever. After joining the team on a one-year, $200,000 deal in the offseason, Bonner never settled into a comfortable role. She started the first three games with the team before being moved to a bench role.

That didn’t last long. Bonner came off the bench for six games before leaving the team due to “personal reasons.” After missing five games, reports emerged suggesting Bonner had no interest in returning to the Fever.

The team reportedly tried to find a trade partner for Bonner, but a deal never materialized.
