Elite five-star recruit Kaiden Prothro sets his commitment date fro July 12. Prothro also cut his list of schools to three. He will choose among the Florida Gators, Georgia Bulldogs and Texas Longhorns. Prothro took official visits to Georgia (May 30), Alabama (June 6), Auburn (June 10), Florida (June 13) and Texas (June 20).
Prothro is ranked as a five-star recruit. He’s the No. 25 recruit in the nation and is a key in-state target for coach Kirby Smart and Georgia.
Georgia missed out on No. 1 tight end Mark Bowman, so Kaiden Prothro is an even bigger priority for the Bulldogs. Georgia already has a commitment from four-star tight end prospect Lincoln Keyes. Prothro has received a prediction to head to play for UGA, per On3’s Steve Wiltfong.
Prothro is a versatile player that, despite being listed as a tight end, could excel in various roles in college. Some teams envision him as a jumbo X receiver, while others see him as a flex tight end with the potential to develop into an in-line weapon. The 6-foot-6, 210-pound pass catcher has excellent length, but needs to add weight to play tight end in the SEC.
Prothro plays high school football for Bowdon High School in Bowdon, Georgia. He is the third-ranked tight end prospect in the class of 2026 and the third-ranked player in Georgia.
