Michigan football beats Alabama head-to-head for four-star Class of 2026 DL Titan Davis

The Michigan football program is known for churning out standout defensive linemen and another player budding with potential has been added into the fold.

Titan Davis, a four-star Class of 2026 defensive lineman from St. Louis, Missouri (DeSmet) has pledged to join the Wolverines, a major recruiting win for position coach Lou Esposito, who was going head-to-head with Alabama.

Davis (6-foot-4½ and 270 pounds), held three dozen Division I offers, including more than 25 from power conferences. It was clear something major was happening earlier in the day on Monday June 23, when coach Sherrone Moore put out his patened “👀” emoji, signaling an incoming commit.

“IM HOME,” Davis posted on social media. “#GoBlue”

Davis is one of the most highly regarded prospects committed to U-M and he is ranked No. 2 among players in Missouri, No. 13 among defensive linemen across the country and No. 101 overall regardless of position in the Class of 2026 per 247Sports composite rankings.

Davis took a major leap in 2024, finishing his junior season with 46 tackles, 18 for loss and nine sacks as he helped DeSmet to a 12-2 mark and the Missouri Class 6 state championship.

“Ascending defensive end with a prototypical frame that could fit into an odd or even front at the next level,” wrote Andrew Irvins, the site’s director of recruiting. “Projects as a potential multi-year contributor and possible impact player for a College Football Playoff contender. Should offer plenty of alignment flex and could very well end up finding a home on the inside depending on how the body matures.”

Sept. 21, 2024; Columbus, Ohio, USA; DeSmet (Missouri) defensive lineman Titan Davis watches warm-ups before Ohio State's game against the Marshall University Thundering Herd at Ohio Stadium.

This now makes three defensive linemen pledged to join U-M in the class, including four-star recruits Alister Vallejo (Liberty Hill, Texas) and McHale Blade (Chicago).

Davis is the second-highest rated recruit in Michigan’s rising senior class, behind only quarterback Brady Smigiel. The12th player committed to the Wolverines, he helped Michigan jump from mid-40s to No. 28 overall in the recruiting rankings.
