UCF gaining recruiting momentum with commitment of 4-star defensive end

UCF landed its most significant commitment of the 2026 recruiting cycle when Alhassan Iddrissu, a 4-star edge rusher from Connecticut, pledged to the Knights last week.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Iddrissu is the top-ranked player from Connecticut and is also positioned as the No. 38 edge rusher nationally, according to the composite rankings by 247Sports.

Iddrissu’s commitment comes after a competitive recruitment process, in which he ultimately chose UCF over programs including Maryland, California, Florida State and Michigan. His decision marks a significant accomplishment for the Knights, as he becomes the first 4-star athlete to join the program in this recruiting cycle.

A native of Ghana, Iddrissu is now the 12th player to pledge to the Knights’ 2026 class, which currently holds the No. 46 spot in the nation per 247Sports rankings.

It’s the first full recruiting class under coach Scott Frost, who returned to the program after an eight-year absence.

All verbal commitments are non-binding but can become official during the early signing period in December.
