CLEMSON— Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers are making a major statement on the recruiting trail, and their latest move could poach a top talent from the heart of SEC country. The Tigers have picked up a 247Sports Crystal Ball prediction to land 4-star edge rusher Dre Quinn, a highly sought-after prospect from Buford, Georgia.

This forecast comes as a potential blow to national powerhouses Georgia and Notre Dame, who are also in hot pursuit of the talented defender.

Quinn, ranked as the No. 264 overall prospect and No. 26 edge rusher in the 2026 class by the 247Sports Composite, was on campus for a major official visit weekend on May 30. The visit appears to have made a significant impression, with Clemson recruiting insider Austin Hannon of 247Sports lodging a prediction on Wednesday that Quinn will ultimately commit to the Tigers.

A commitment from Quinn would be a significant victory for Swinney’s staff, not only for his on-field potential but also for the message it would send. Plucking a blue-chip prospect from Buford—a perennial Georgia powerhouse—right from under the nose of Kirby Smart and the Bulldogs would be a major recruiting coup. The Tigers are also battling the likes of Notre Dame and Texas, with Quinn still scheduled to take official visits to both programs.

Clemson’s recruiting efforts for the 2026 cycle have been nothing short of dominant. The Tigers have already secured 18 commitments, building a class that is currently ranked No. 3 in the nation by 247Sports. The class is laden with talent on the offensive line, including recent commitments from JR Hardrick, Leo Delaney, and Carter Scruggs, but adding a premier pass rusher like Quinn is a clear priority.
