One storyline that’s always a good one to follow each summer is watching undrafted free agents attempt to crack the 53-man roster. One early clue can be looking at the contracts of such free agents and looking at how much money is being guaranteed in their contracts.
Theoretically, the more money a player is guaranteed, the better chance they seemingly have of making the active roster. From that standpoint, we can check out the guaranteed money amount for each undrafted free agent for the Lions,
WR Jakobie Keeney-James: $254,000
The UMass wide receiver may have a shot at the roster, as the Lions guaranteed $254,000 for Keeney-James, including a $20,000 signing bonus.
WR Jackson Meeks: $220,000
Another undrafted receiver getting over $200,000 guaranteed is Syracuse WR Jackson Meeks. The $220,000 includes a $20,000 signing bonus.
DL Keith Cooper Jr.: $145,000
The former Houston defensive lineman is getting a nice $145,000 guaranteed, with a $20,000 signing bonus.
TE/FB Zach Horton: $100,000
Another six-figure guarantee for the Indiana H-back, which includes a $15,000 signing bonus.
CB Gavin Holmes: $85,000
The former Texas safety is getting a solid $85,000 guaranteed with a $10,000 signing bonus.
TE Caden Prieskorn: $75,000
The Ole Miss tight end received $75,000 guaranteed, including a $15,000 signing bonus.
RB Anthony Tyus III: $75,000
Tyus, the Ohio running back, is also getting $75,000 guaranteed, with a $10,000 signing bonus.
RB Kye Robichaux: $50,000
$50,000 guaranteed and a $5,000 signing bonus for the former Boston College running back.
S Ian Kennelly: $40,000
Coming out of Grand Valley State, Kennelly is getting $40,000 guaranteed with a $10,000 signing bonus.
OT Mason Miller: $30,000
The former tackle from North Dakota State is getting $30,000 guaranteed, with a $10,000 signing bonus.
