Former Jacksonville Jaguars’ wide receiver Gabe Davis is reportedly visiting with the New Orleans Saints, according to Ian Rapoport.
Along with visiting with the Saints, Davis has also visited with the San Francisco 49ers, the New York Giants, and the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The 2024 season was Davis’ only with the Jaguars, and a knee injury limited him to 10 games. After being a big play threat with Buffalo in his career, Davis couldn’t find that same production with the Jaguars, totaling 20 receptions for 239 yards with two touchdowns.
With Davis having signed a three-year, $39 million deal with the Jaguars just last offseason, he leaves behind a hefty dead cap hit of $20.3 million that Jacksonville still has to absorb.
By designating Davis as a post-June 1st release, that dead cap hit total will be split between the 2025 and 2026 seasons. Even without Davis on the roster, $5.7 million from his original contract will still count towards Jacksonville’s 2025 salary cap as dead cap, and $14.6 million will count towards the team’s 2026 books as well.
With Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Dyami Brown, and Parker Washington, even if still on the team, the best-case scenario for Davis was that he was going to be the fifth receiver on the Jaguars’ wide receiver depth chart, and that’s a big contract to have on the sidelines. By releasing him now, the Jaguars begin the process of getting Davis’ deal off the books.
