The Chicago Sky had their two-game winning streak snapped on Saturday as they lost to the Indiana Fever by a score of 79 to 52. Chicago is now 2-5 to begin the 2025 WNBA season and they own an 0-1 record in the Commissioner’s Cup.

Angel Reese, who made the WNBA All-Star team as a rookie in 2024, contributed just four points in the loss in addition to 12 rebounds and two assists. Her 2-for-7 shooting performance dropped her field goal percentage to just 31.1% on the season.

Despite the Fever missing 2024 First-Team All-WNBA guard Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham and head coach Stephanie White, the Sky still scored a season-low 52 points in the loss.

On Saturday, 21-year-old American tennis player Coco Gauff, who is currently ranked No. 2 in the world, won her first French Open. She took down the world’s No. 1 player, Aryna Sabalenka, to earn the title in Paris, France.

Despite the tough loss that Chicago suffered on Saturday, Reese still took the time to send a quick message to Gauff after her major victory.

“THE QUEEN,” Reese wrote.

After the defeat, Reese is now averaging 9.1 points per game. She is also adding 12.3 rebounds per contest, which leads the entire WNBA.

The Chicago Sky will play their next game on Tuesday against the 8-0 New York Liberty. This will provide them with a chance to take down the defending WNBA champions and avenge their 99 to 74 loss from earlier in the season.

Tuesday’s game will be played at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn, New York. Tipoff is set for 8:00 p.m. EST.
