Gov. Mifflin defeated Northeastern in five sets on Saturday in the PIAA Class 3A boys volleyball quarterfinals.

The set scores were 26-24, 15-25, 19-25, 25-18, 16-14.

The Mustangs, 21-1 and third in District 3, will play the winner of Abington Heights-Cumberland Valley in the semifinals on Tuesday with the winner of that match advancing to PIAA title match at Penn State on June 14.

For Gov. Mifflin on Saturday, Angel Bermudez had 38 assists, 2 blocks, 8 digs and 1 ace, Carter Weyant had 12 kills, 6 blocks, 8 digs and 1 ace, and Armani George had 16 kills and 7 blocks.

Also, Derek Kintzer had 11 kills and 11 digs, Braden Holmes had 21 digs and 1 ace.
