2025 IHSA softball state championship recap: Illinois crowns 1A, 2A state champions

PEORIA — The Illinois High School Association Class 1A and Class 2A softball state championships are Saturday at Louisville Slugger Sports Complex.

Class 1A: Carrollton 10, LeRoy 0

PEORIA — Carrollton struck for four runs in the first inning and didn’t relent on the way to its first state championship Saturday morning.

The Hawks (38-1) added two runs in the second, another in the third and three in the fifth to cap the 10-run victory, securing the school its first state title to go with a runner-up finish from 2002.

Brookelyn Eilerman went 3-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs to lead Carrollton, which had four players with multiple hits. Hannah Uhles added a home run and two RBIs.

Lauren Flowers (20-0) got the win for Carrollton, striking out six and walking none in five shutout innings.

Morgan Fleming has two hits to lead LeRoy (35-6), at state for just the second time after finishing third in 2023.

Class 2A: Carterville vs. Beecher

PEORIA — Carterville (29-4) meets Beecher (36-2) in the Class 2A championship game, set for 4:30 p.m.

Carterville has three IHSA titles, including the 2024 Class 2A championship. Beecher has four titles, their last in 2019.
