Angel Reese Sends Clear Message Following Major Personal Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Chicago Sky are set to face the Indiana Fever for the second time this season on Saturday night. With Caitlin Clark sidelined as she continues to rehab a quad injury, the Sky have a prime opportunity to secure their third straight win after starting the season 0-4.
Following the team’s practice on Friday, “Chicago State of Mind Sports” caught up with Angel Reese to discuss her relationship with NBA legend Allen Iverson, who, along with Shaquille O’Neal, has recently taken on a leadership role at Reebok as part of the brand’s revival efforts.
Reese has emerged as a key figure in that movement, having signed a major shoe deal with the company and positioned as one of its featured athletes.
She also took the opportunity to clear up confusion surrounding her signature shoe, set to release in 2026.
“I think Allen Iverson and I have a great connection—obviously we’re building with the Reebok brand,” Reese said. “I talked to Shaq yesterday, and we’re just continuing to build up the brand. We’ve gotten great feedback on these shoes… but I hope people know, these are not my signature shoes. These are just the PEs that came out. My signature shoe is coming soon—in 2026. So I’m super excited for that.”

Some fans have mistaken her recent Player Edition (PE) release—which is simply a custom colorway with the company—for her actual signature model. Just over the past week, Reese’s official logo for the upcoming sneaker was unveiled.

Aside from the logo reveal, no further details about Angel Reese’s upcoming signature sneaker have been made public. Since signing with Reebok in October 2023, she has released several Player Edition (PE) designs and collaborations.
Nearly a year later, Reese extended her partnership with the brand following the announcement that her signature shoe would debut in 2026.
In just her second WNBA season, the former LSU star has quickly become a prominent figure in the sport, playing a major role in the rapid growth of women’s basketball.
The Chicago Sky’s season opener against the Indiana Fever drew 2.7 million viewers on national television and peaked at 3.1 million, making it the most-watched WNBA regular-season game in 25 years.
While Saturday’s rematch may not draw the same numbers with Caitlin Clark sidelined, it underscores the massive impact these rising stars are having on the sport.
