Top Big 12 QB Earns Invite to the Prestigious Manning Passing Academy

Top Big 12 QB Earns Invite to the Prestigious Manning Passing Academy originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Going into the 29th year of operation, the Manning Passing Academy is the premier training academy for not only quarterbacks, but running backs, wide receivers and tight ends. With a 10:1 ratio of counselors to campers, young, talented players will learn from football royalty.

In a story by Daniel Hager of On3, 27 college quarterbacks will serve as counselors, including Arizona State gunslinger Sam Leavitt. Leavitt is one of five Big 12 signal-callers to earn the prestigious invite. Of course, Texas Longhorns signal-caller Arch Manning will attend. No quarterbacks from national champion Ohio State or rival Michigan were invited.

Leavitt is one of the best quarterbacks in college football this season. In 2024, he quarterbacked the Sun Devils to victory 11 times and won the conference title. The Sun Devils bring back an experienced team this season, led by Leavitt, and should be the favorites to win the conference title again.

For campers, Leavitt’s leadership skills and team-first mentality will be extremely beneficial, in addition to his mastery of the quarterback position at the collegiate level.

Getting an invite to be a counselor is a golden opportunity for Leavitt to learn from the best in football, the Manning family. Leavitt will take that knowledge back to the Valley of the Sun in time for fall camp.

From there, Leavitt will toil in the desert heat, honing his craft and will emerge from the crucible a gridiron warrior, ready to lead the Sun Devils to football glory.
