From West Chester, Pennsylvania to the Pittsburgh Steelers — Will Howard has come home.
At the Steelers rookie minicamp, the Ohio State Buckeye shared how much it meant to him to be selected by Pittsburgh, courtesy of 93.7 The Fan:
“Everything kind of fell into place. As the draft went on, you never know where you’re going to end up — but you keep a little spot for where you really want to go. And I had a little soft spot for Pittsburgh. I was hoping in my heart that they’d pick me.”
Some of the Steelers fan base was frustrated over passing on Colorado Buffaloes QB Shedeur Sanders throughout the draft — who was ultimately selected by the Cleveland Browns in the fifth round. However, Howard is clearly ready to prove to the Black and Gold faithful why Pittsburgh made the right choice in believing in him.
If the season started today, Howard would likely learn behind QB Mason Rudolph — but if Aaron Rodgers were to sign in the coming weeks, his development would surely improve by leaps and bounds over the 2025 season under the tutelage of the four-time MVP.
In my heart I wanted to be a #Steelers QB
