One of Wisconsin football’s remaining transfer targets is now off the board.
That is former Nebraska offensive lineman Grant Seagren, who signed with Oklahoma State on Wednesday. On3’s Pete Nakos was first with the news.
Wisconsin offered Seagren earlier this month after hosting him on a transfer visit during spring practice. The redshirt sophomore was in the portal after two years at Nebraska. He originally joined the Cornhuskers as a walk-on in the class of 2023. After redshirting as a true freshman, Seagren played 36 total snaps over seven appearances in 2024. His progression continued into this offseason, as he was reportedly competing for a spot on Nebraska’s two-deep this spring before entering the portal.
The Badgers worked hard during the spring cycle to address their need along the offensive line, one that arose when starting left tackle Kevin Heywood went down with a season-ending injury. The program first landed Central Michigan tackle Davis Heinzen in late April, then expressed significant interest in Seagren.
One week after visiting Madison, Wisconsin, the lineman instead chose Oklahoma State.

Wisconsin has added five players during the spring window — Heinzen, long snapper Nick Levy, quarterback Hunter Simmons, tight end Lance Mason and wide receiver Dekel Crowdus. Crowdus just signed with the program on Tuesday.
That group follows the program’s loaded winter transfer haul. Luke Fickell’s overall work improving the roster this offseason is set to pay major dividends. The team currently projects to start seven transfers, with several more in the projected two-deep.
