BUTLER — Meadville swept Butler 3-0 (25-18, 25-20, 25-20) in a non-region boys volleyball match on Wednesday.
Luc Soerensen led the offense with 14 kills. Parker Gosnell had 10 digs and nine kills. Max Decker tallied 24 assists, 10 digs and seven kills. Tate Walker added 15 assists and Brennan Decker had 15 digs.
Meadville is 10-0 on the year and will host Cambridge Springs today.
Eagles fall to Tigers
FAIRVIEW — The Conneaut softball team lost to Fairview 5-2 on Wednesday in a Region 4 contest.
Ella Fuller had two hits for the Eagles. In the circle, Kaylin Faust struck out five and walked two.
Conneaut is 0-13 on the season. The Eagles are scheduled to play at Corry today.
Conneaut drops region game
LINESVILLE — Conneaut lost to Girard 8-4 in a Region 5 baseball game on Wednesday at Conneaut Area Senior High School.
Logan Nottingham had a double with Chase Stewart, Caiden Loucks and Ashton Headley each adding one hit. Alex Wilpula struck out six in five innings on the bump.
The Eagles are 4-9 overall and 2-5 in region games. Conneaut is scheduled to host Northwestern today.
Cards sweep Orioles
COCHRANTON — Cochranton swept Rocky Grove 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, 25-14) in a region boys volleyball match at The Bird Cage on Wednesday.
Brady Rynd had 13 kills and 12 digs. CJ Shorts added 11 digs and five kills while Evan King and Quin McCartney each dished 13 assists.
Cochranton is scheduled to play at the Shaler Tournament on Saturday.
