Mikal Bridges' clutch steals are deciding the Knicks-Celtics playoff series

New York Knicks forward Mikal Bridges is quite literally stealing away his team’s second-round NBA playoff series from the Boston Celtics.

For a second-straight game, Bridges secured the game-altering steal against Boston to prevent the Celtics from getting the points necessary with time ticking down to either force overtime or win altogether.

Bridges prevented overtime during Game 1 with a steal, and Wednesday night’s Game 2 in Boston saw him steal the ball away from the Celtics as time expired to prevent a game-winning basket. New York took the razor-thin contest after Bridges’ steal, 91-90, for a surprising 2-0 series lead on the defending champs.

The Knicks will now head back to Madison Square Garden for a two-game homestead, thanks in large part to Bridges’ clutch defense at the wire.

Bridges has clearly proven New York right in its decision to trade for him in the offseason with how he’s stepped up when his team needed him the most. His incredibly timely steals have been crucial to securing the Knicks’ 2-0 lead.

Take a bow, Bridges. You’re quickly stealing the hearts of New York fans everywhere with clutch plays like this.
