The Pittsburgh Steelers started the offseason with a No. 1 receiver and a bunch of dudes. Fast forward to now and the Steelers now have a No. 1 receiver and a bunch of dudes. This is despite a trade for DK Metcalf, free agency and the 2025 NFL draft. Pretty disappointing. Meanwhile, other teams that already have solid wide receiver depth charts added multiple big-play wide receivers via the draft. This leaves some options out there for the Steelers to consider via trade.
Romeo Doubs – Green Bay Packers
The Packers drafted Matthew Golden and Savion Williams, giving them a great group of receivers. If we assume Christian Watson will be back and Mecole Hardman can still play, Dobbs might want to come to the Steelers and play with Aaron Rodgers.
Chris Godwin – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Godwin singed a huge new contract this offseason but could still be on the market thanks to the addition of Emeka Egbuka. Tampa also has Trey Palmer and Jalen McMilan who are solid options to work in with the immortal Mike Evans.
John Metchie – Houston Texans
The Texans hit wide receiver hard this offseason to hedge their bets with the Tank Dell injury. Dell seems to be ahead of schedule, so Metchie could be on the market after the picks of Iowa State stars Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel.
Christian Kirk – Houston Texans
Everything we said about Metchie applies to Kirk as well. Kirk might be harder to pry away but would be a great player to pair up with DK Metcalf.
Tre Tucker – Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders passing offense runs through tight end Brock Bowers. But this didn’t stop Las Vegas from bringing in three rookies, including Jack Bech from TCU. This might mean the Raiders would part with Tre Tucker who caught 47 passes last season on a terrible team.
Tim Patrick – Detroit Lions
We were a little surprised the Lions drafted Isaac TeSlaa and Dominic Lovett but this could open the doors for Detroit to trade Tim Patrick and let TeSlaa assume his spot in the starting lineup.
