5-Star EDGE Anthony 'Tank' Jones nears decision with Oregon among top schools

Just over a week after 5-star EDGE Anthony ‘Tank’ Jones released his list of top three schools that included the Oregon Ducks, Alabama Crimson Tide and Texas A&M Aggies, he’s now saying that one team has separated itself from the pack.

Standing at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds, Jones is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 16 player and No. 3 EDGE in the 2026 class, and would be a huge get for the Ducks. They’ve already landed six commitments over the last month, including two other 5-stars with safety Jett Washington and OT Immanuel Iheanacho headlining the group.

Jones took an official visit to Eugene in June. Weeks ago, the perceived leader was Alabama, but the Ducks remain a possibility as a potential stunner to secure his commitment.

While he still doesn’t have a commitment date set, it’s expected that he’ll choose his final destination before signing day in December, at the latest.
