3 Raiders who could still get replaced on the 53-man roster

Las Vegas Raiders general manager John Spytek submitted his initial 53-man roster on Tuesday. On Wednesday, every player released with four or fewer accrued seasons will be subject to the waivers claim process. The Raiders possess the sixth priority and are expected to be active.

With that said, we’ve identified three players who made the Raiders’ 53-man roster at risk of being replaced for waiver claims.

DT Leki Fotu

The Raiders kept six defensive tackles on the initial 53-man roster. With the upside Jonah Laulu, Tonka Hemingway, and JJ Pegues possess, it feels like Leki Fotu was the final interior defensive lineman. The veteran Fotu feels like a candidate to be replaced once waiver claims process.

IOL Will Putnam

There are 10 offensive linemen on the roster. Sophomore undrafted free agent Will Putnam failed to make the 53-man squad last season, but achieved his goal this year. Putnam probably shouldn’t get too comfortable, as there were quality offensive lineman with plenty of experienced blockers released around the league.

LB Cody Lindenberg

Six linebackers feels like one too many, especially given the experience Elandon Roberts, Jamal Adams, Devin White, and Germaine Pratt provide. If there’s an odd man out here, it’s probably Cody Lindenberg. If Lindenberg, a rookie seventh-round selection, is waived, he could eventually resurface on the practice squad.
