Cincinnati (Oh.) Moeller 2026 tight end Sam Hamilton has been committed to West Virginia since February but the official visit to campus still held some surprises.
Hamilton, 6-foot-4, 230-pounds, was impressed with the entire presentation during his time in Morgantown and the Mountaineers made him feel at home throughout.
“I felt very welcomed and special. Getting to learn more and more about West Virginia football and the school was great this weekend,” he said.
The message from the coaching staff was simply to keep his head down and work while helping to recruit more players into the recruiting class. And tight ends coach Michael Nysewander let him know how he fits into the picture for the coaching staff.
“They see me as a first-day impact player when I arrive there in January and I’m just blessed for the opportunity to be a West Virginia Mountaineer,” he said.
Hamilton also enjoyed being around the rest of the coaches and players in order to truly gain an understanding of the family aspect and values that they have in the program. He also did a little bit of recruiting himself while he was on campus.
This will be the first and only official visit for Hamilton as he now looks forward to his senior season and closing out things at Moeller. But he also is excited for the next chapter in Morgantown.
“I can’t wait to be in Morgantown next January. Mountaineer nation let’s build something special,” he said.
