The Arizona Cardinals report to training camp on July 22 and begin the process of preparing for the regular season, forming the roster and determining starting jobs and roles on the team.
Leading up to the start of camp, we will take a look at every player on the offseason roster, their background, their contract, their play in 2024, questions they face and their roster outlook.
This focuses on running back Zonovan “Bam” Knight.
Bam Knight background, 2024 season
Knight enters his first year with the Cardinals. He did not play last season.
He entered the NFL in 2022 as a rookie free agent out of N.C. State with the New York Jets. He played in seven games, starting four, as a rookie and had 300 yards and a touchdown.
He played for the Detroit Lions in 2023, appearing in two games.
He spent most of 2024 unsigned until he joined the Jets’ practice squad in November. He signed a futures deal with the Cardinals in January.
Bam Knight 2025 contract details
Knight’s deal is for one year and the league minimum. If he makes the 53-man roster, his salary and cap hit will be $1.03 million.
Questions he faces, roster outlook
Knight currently stands as the last running back on the offseason running back depth chart. He is unlikely to make the team, but perhaps he can beat out Michael Carter as the favorite to be on the practice squad.
